WOLFKEEPER TRAINING THEORIES AND PRINCIPLES

The goal of the dog owner is to push their dog to the maximum in regards to basic and advanced obedience. The minimum amount of time it takes to completely train a dog (on and off leash) is 28 weeks. Note that to ensure successful completion, all obedience training must be tested by an outside non-biased dog trainer. The following is a list of what is expected of each dog.

EVERY DOG SHOULD
have mastered on and off leash control
be completely compliant with being touched anywhere on the body
be certified by dog trainers other than the one that conducted the training

X - NO DOG SHOULD - X
be aggressive to humans or other animals
be easily excited by light and medium distraction
be disobedient to its owner

TRAINING METHODS
Step 1: Positive Reinforcement - Treat
Teach the dog to perform a command by using treats and praise.
Step 2: Compulsion
Once the dog performs a command consistently with the use of a treat or praise, introduce slight compulsion. Slight compulsion is simply a tug/pull of the leash used to teach a dog commands without treats or praise.
Step 3: Verbal
Once the dog is performing the desired command consistently with slight compulsion, the next step is for the dog to master the command without any compulsion. Therefore, the dog must perform strictly for the voice command.
